First Codorus State Park eaglet of 2016 hatches
The first eaglet of 2016 hatched at some point between Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.
A camera set up by the Pennsylvania Game Commission in Codorus State Park has offered birdwatchers a constant live feed of the lives of the newborn eaglet and its parents. The mother laid another egg, which will soon hatch after its sibling.
Birdwatchers were eagerly anticipating the arrival of this year's first feathered baby. Several said they had a feeling it would arrival Monday evening.
Those predictions paid off as the eagle cam showed a brave mother eagle protecting her young from the blustery winds that swept through York County Monday evening into Tuesday.

Thousands of eagle enthusiasts from around the world have tuned into the livestream of the nest, which overlooks Codorus State Park near Hanover, since the cameras went live this winter.
This year marks the second season the Pennsylvania Game Commission and camera provider HDOnTap have hosted the up-close view of the birds.
