Previously reported, January 2017:

A juvenile thought to be involved in the robbery of a pizza delivery man in Penn Township will be charged as an adult, according to an affidavit.

Sheldon Isaiah Cheese, 17, of York, is one of two people allegedly involved in the incident.

He and Logan Matthew Alexander, 18, of Littlestown, allegedly robbed the man on Jan. 24 as he was delivering pizzas to them, according to the affidavit filed with District Judge James Miner.

Alexander is a senior at Delone Catholic High School, which was confirmed by Delone Catholic Principal Maureen Thiec. A member of the basketball team, he was averaging more than 19 points per game this season. Delone Catholic boys' basketball coach Lawrence Williams declined comment.

Cheese knocked on the man's car window and he got out of the car, while Alexander waited at the rear of the car pointing a gun at the man, police said. Both Cheese and Alexander fled into a wooded area after the man gave them the two pizzas and $25, police said.

Police located Alexanders car near the scene, and when Alexander came back, they found Cheese's wallet and ID card in the car. The delivery man identified Cheese as one of the suspects who robbed him, the affidavit states.

Teen charged for robbing pizza delivery man

Since Cheese was arrested on felony charges, the York County District Attorney's Office recommended police file his charges as an adult, Penn Township Police Chief Jim Laughlin said.

Based on the nature of the crime, law requires Cheese to be charged as an adult, according to York County District Attorney's Office Spokesman Kyle King.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and York City Police located and arrested him in York City Jan. 26, Laughlin said.

Cheese is in York County Prison in lieu of $75,000 for robbery and conspiracy charges, according to online court documents.

Alexander was taken to York County Prison in lieu of $50,000 on Jan. 25 on robbery, conspiracy and corruption of minors charges, documents state.

Cheese did not have an attorney listed.
